that is tough to say. do you know what your processor speed is and how much ram you have?

also, do you have any other programs running while you are watchin the movie?

Gleon.. I know you have a lot of money tied up in this stock and you want the company to do well. If we really had a great problem or issue this board would be so filled with people! they care about their well being. I know that your comp is a little old and that I had the same problem you had last time, but you need to take things one step at a time. If you own that much stock I would recommend you use some of your money to buy a newer comp. I now a lot of people have older comps. but 5 years... you are streaching the average lifespan of a comp. things are moving a little faster now a days..

gleongelpi...i just tried to deliberately max my system resources while i watched a movie.

the movie did indeed drop frames (which would make it look jerky), to try and keep up with the stream. this kind of problem isn't reeltime's fault, it's just too much of a burden on the computer. i often get the same type of issue when i watch tv on my computer while i'm using another resource intensive programm.

maybe this will turn out not to be your issue, but the more i look at it, that's what it appears to be.

and honestly, that is the best possible scenario, because that means there isn't a flaw in reeltime's software. it's just an unfortunate fact of life in the computer world: lifespans are short.

i think at some point, reeltime will release a more detailed 'minimum requirements' list, once they figure out how different computer systems handle the program.

it's much more likely that the "millions of computers with problems" will be on the bandwitdh side.. considering what you can get for $500 these days!

but ADSL 2.0 is already in effect in some parts of the world, and Gigabit Wireless is already out in its infancy with the Rangemax protocol... so these problems will go away, it's just a matter of time.
