#34133 RE: DewDiligence #34129

"However, even the protesters might approve of research at Minos BioSystems, a British biotech company. It plans to produce drugs from insect larvae. In a business plan reminiscent of the sci-fi horror film The Fly, the company proposes creating house flies with human genes to produce human blood protein."

Amazing to suggest that protesters would prefer genetically modified fly larvae to genetically modified goats, cows or rabbits. They may actually think that way, but for the wrong reason. Emotionally, protesters may prefer insects, but when it come to avoiding the escape of genetically modified species, I think a small flock of goats is much easier to control than a lab full of flies and their larvae.
