Until the price of data gets more reasonable, there will be no point in 1GBps download speeds. At that speed, a 10 second download will wipe out a 1GByte monthly plan.

Maybe the higher speeds may allow pricing to come down on a /byte basis, but I have yet to see that to a significant extent. I have gone from 12 -> 16GByte / month on a shared plan for the same price after 5 yrs

My typical cellular use is 5 MB to 300 MB/month. Vast majority of my consumption is either via WiFi or iTunes download. I plan to switch to Comcast's pay by the GB plan when they do BYOD. No line charges. So my cost would be somewhere around free to $10/month. They use Verizon's network and give you the first 300 MB for free.
