#347 RE: PhillyPA65 #345

wow, what an experience! and dangerous too....back then, though, they made cars that would last and last, and ya didn;t have to be a brain surgeon to fix them when they needed fixing. Remember the Nash Rambler? My grandfather had one, and when he died,in 1972, they gave it to one of my brothers, who drove it and drove it..This brother, who is an electrician these days, had a problem with his gas tank, too, and couldn't get it fixed reasonably, becuase they were no longer making the car. So what did he do? He went and got himself a beer keg, wired it somehow into the gas line, set the keg on the back seat of the car, and when he went to the gas station, instead of filling up the car tank, he filled up the beer keg! True story! He said that car ran really really well....which is why it got kicked off the market by ford and gm, and he just could not see giving up on it just yet....hahaha It too, had over 150k miles or more. Now, I see, GM is offering the 100k mile warranty, which just MIGHT be that they are dumming down the car, so that at 100,100 miles, it just stops going....
