Good question...yes there are. Here are the permits required:

1. Amended ADEQ Aquifer Protection Permit for the Johnson Camp Mine copper processing facility (JCM ADEQ APP).
- Status: GRANTED

2. ADEQ Aquifer Protection Permit for the Gunnison Wellfield (Gunnison ADEQ APP).
- Status: DRAFT PERMIT RELEASED (end of public review 8/5/17)

3. EPA Underground Injection Control permit for the Gunnison Wellfield (Gunnison EPA UIC).
- Status: DRAFT PERMIT PENDING

Note: While the EPA UIC permit isn't necessarily contingent on the Gunnison APP, it is my understanding that the EPA delegates the majority of the research and discovery to the state and then piggybacks on the state's findings. I previously asked a knowledgeable person at Excelsior if there is 'overlap' between the requirements of the Gunnison ADEQ APP and EPA UIC permits. They emphatically said there is 'significant' overlap between the two.
