Well, they got much feedback because they released it and are making big improvements based on that feedback (something Pokemon GO has been been criticized for not doing). Yes, there was initial press, but most people still haven't heard about Garfield GO. That will change after the big updates and marketing blitz. Regarding the movie... it seems likely that it will come out in June of 2018 (for Garfield's 40th Birthday) and promotions will begin months before that. We'll see :)
