#202495 RE: fuagf #202494

fuagf, compliments of Powerpole...

Here are some 'Instructions'...

It's a bit complicated, but here's how to put a picture or animation into your signature, or into the text of a post...

I first go to a website for animations...Here are two of my favorites, though there are many more if you do a search...

http://www.animationlibrary.com/a-l/?n=subcat_images.php3&id=61&start=80&end=20

http://www.gifanimations.com/

Then you save it to your hard drive by right-clicking on the animation, and click "Save Picture As", and I save it to a folder named 'Animations' in my folder 'My Pictures'...

Pictures also have to be saved to your hard drive...

Next, you have to Upload that file to an 'Image Hosting Website'...I use:

http://xs.to/

Which is a 'Free' site that allows 500 files to be stored there...You have to 'Register' with them simply by giving your email address, and then activating your account in the email they send you to do that...You cannot delete 'Cookies' from your computer, or you will lose all the files you have stored, and have to begin again...

Once you have uploaded the file to xs.to, scroll down to the last of the six links it gives you for that file named "Direct Link"...Then you 'copy' it by clicking once in that box until the box changes color, and press "Control+C" at the same time on your keyboard...

To put the picture or animation into your "Signature" here on IHUB, go to your 'Favorites' page and click on your 'alias'...That will bring up your "Profile" page...In the top left corner, click on "Edit Profile"...At the bottom of that screen is the "Message Signature" box...

To put it into a 'post', just do the following in the text of your post...

Now this is where it gets tricky...What I'm about to type CANNOT have any spaces like I'm typing here...I have to type it this way or you wouldn't be able to see it...If I did it the right way, all you would see is a white box with a red 'x' in it...

Type this:

[chart ][/chart ]

But close up the two ] next to the t's

Then put your cursor in between the ][ and 'Paste' the "Direct Link" URL you 'Copied' from xs.to in there...You do that by pressing the 'Control+V' keys at the same time...

Next...you MUST take the "http://" out of what you just pasted in there...

Then try to preview your post...I suggest you test this out by sending a "Private Message" to yourself until you get it right...If you are not a 'paying' member of IHUB, you can try out your pic/animation on the "TEST" Board:

GOOD LUCK!...AND ENJOY!
