Yes I saw this article and I think it is just an additional cooperation in metal AM space.
The list is long but at the End you can see that everybody (they are real competitors on the market)is cooperating with each other in a certain extend to push AM forward together.

Just see some examples:

http://www.industrial-lasers.com/articles/2013/05/concept-laser--eos--and-trumpf-extend-their-patent-license-agree.html

https://www.eos.info/Press/eos_slm_solutions_agree_cross_licence_for_laser_sintering

http://www.tctmagazine.com/3D-printing-news/additive-industries-sign-license-agreement-with-eos/

https://www.geaviation.com/press-release/other-news-information/ge-aviation-signs-additive-manufacturing-cooperative-agreement

Those are only some examples and can be easily extended to almost all major players. Interesting is that SGLB is participating in that relatively small community quite successful and is cooperating with almost all those players.

So for me it is only a question of time until all major players including GE now as owner of Concept Laser will sign something like cross licence agreements or just agree that SGLB is the IPQA standard technology supplier for at least critical aerospace applications (I personally expect more as e.g. oil and gas turbo machinery is similar to aerospace etc).

For SGLB it is may be not so important which host will at the End embed our technology e.g.
Materialise with Streamics and SGLB for GE
Materialise with Streamics and SGLB for Siemens
etc
anyhow we have two machine OEM's as host to date Additive Industries and Trumpf and MC was talking about recently more to come...

GLTA don't be confused about all that very positive developments!

This is just my understanding of the actual situation...
