My opinion has been that the loosely written lease for the 767-300 was an interim measure to keep the transition going and that they would (and should) use a much more modern aircraft like the 777 to get up and running.

They either have decent funding or they don't. If they are scraping by with minimum funding and using the least expensive options, I'm not optimistic of their success.

Using a 20 year old 767 is certainly better than a 40 year old 747 but its just trying to do things on the cheap again.
Get the new airplane and it sends a message to the world that they are really serious this time.
