The good news is millions of existing set top boxes are obsolete because they are incapable of rendering 4K video. They will have to be replaced with newer models. The timing is just right for TMMI to negotiate deals with multiple OEMs. 4K TVs are dirt cheap and will become even cheaper when 8K starts entering the market.
