I completely agree with you. What I meant was that Blizzard games are popular and many gamers have their launcher installed already since they play their games. In this case it doesn't make much difference if Destiny 2 is not on Steam.
It all boils down to whether the game will be good. I've played Destiny 1 for a bit and I was satisfied with my investment, but I wasn't left in awe at the same time. Hopefully Destiny 2 will be better, although, at this point in time, it looks painfully similar to the original.
