I do take a measured approach to my investing, and hate to lose. So, I do a lot of DD on any stock I invest in. The promising future of a company does play into my DD, but so do all the facts, which means the filings. I also Google the company and learn what has been published about it. I check Yahoo and Nasdaq. By the time I put money into a stock (especially the OTC pinks) I know more about it than most of the employees.
I don't care much what the price is at the point I invest - I just buy it at the ask and sit back and wait and watch. If the DD doesn't change, it just sits and waits. If the DD changes negative, I make a decision. If it changes in the positive direction, I decide whether any further action is required.
If it gets to a 10-bagger, I sell 10% of that stock. I have 33M shares of BVTK at an average of $.0008 and will sell 3M if/when it hits $.008. From that point, I'll have 30M riding free, and I'll take my returned investment to the next candidate.
I currently have 12 such investments, all with at least 1M shares. It only takes one company to hit it big for me to have all of the others paid for. I will probably get about 24 in total when I just sit back and watch the DD and make appropriate moves. It is fairly easy to keep up with 12, as I subscribe to the companies' email news and set google alerts as well. And, of course, I watch all the posters here for news of changes in basics. I don't need to read every message - just scanning the 'unread' list is sufficient to find posts that might have value.
I like starting from trips. It can be exhilarating when one pops.
