Yes, I received an HACKER E-MAIL from WEEDWISER.COM web site?

Well now ya did it. I went to the site out of curiosity.

The Lawyer thingy is just an Ad placed on the site. Those lawyers must be desperate to have to advertise on a Microcrap scam web page. LOL

If you didn't give them your Email, then it's likely malware from that site infected your computer, and found your Email addr on your computer. That would occur by 2 methods:

1. You click on something while at the site. For example on a Ad, or perform a search of whatever you are suppose to search for on that site. Any action.

or

2. There's a "bot" on the web page. Displays as a 1 pixel dot, can't be seen, and when you mouse over it, the bot image activates, and downloads malware.

What you should do is download:

Malwarebytes

There's a free version, and it's good at finding malware infections. If it finds something, note the name, and after Malwarebytes removes it, then complain vigorously to your anti-virus vendor - for what it's worth.

If the Malwarebytes doesn't find any infections, then either it didn't find something that's there, or the malware scanned your computer, found your Email addr, and then hopped off your computer leaving no traces. Where would it find your Email addr? Most likely in a browser cookie. Either way they have your Email addr, and chances are that Email addr is on a list to be sold to other advertisers. You may or may not get a surge of spam in the future.

Be sure to thank Clay for having malware on the wonderful weedwiser site. There's a chance the dummy doesn't know. Where it's embedded in an Ad. There's a higher probability he doesn't care. Just so long as he gets the Ad revenue.
