fuagf -- though my initial reaction also was negative, in the sense of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it', after getting used to it I actually like the new Google News format -- always more via each panel, just click that little down arrow at the lower right of the panel and then at the bottom of the expanded panel select 'View full coverage' -- level after level going at least a couple of levels deep on most things -- so, overall, (even) better than before at being to able to see a wide/full range of coverage -- that, together with just using the basic Google search for any given point, which basic Google search results typically do contain any recent breaking items relating to the keyword(s) -- quite effective for being to quickly/efficiently drill down on/into at least just about anything
