Regarding the faucet. We have lived in the house for 24 years. I already replaced it once and when I did I installed quick disconnects in case I needed to do it again.

A new faucet is going to cost me about $70 for a similar Delta.

Considering the time it would take me to drive down to HD and back; search for a replacement part and hope it would take care of the problem I've already spent $40 of my time at @ $20 an hour as an example fixing something I could have replaced in an hour for $70 and then be done with it.

It boils down to time is money and fix or replace.
