You are incorrect.
People do make investment decisions based on the CEO statements.

And they read that ACTUAL statement and don't put words in his mouth to make it seem like he said things he didn't.

They don't take a statement of "we expect" and turn it into "we promise".

They look at the whole picture and decide accordingly to either invest or walk away.
