#7108 RE: Connsm #7107

There is one thing we need to clear up. The Environmentalists and the Minneapolis Star Tribune like to misinform the general public. They will tell us, in every article or media release, that the, "Polymet Sulfide Mine that sits next to a national treasure, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area," causes a danger to the prestine wilderness.

Poly does not sit next to the B.W.CA. The B.W.C.A. water shed joins Southern Ontario's water shed and is called the Rainy Lake Water Shed. At this continental point, Canada's water flows south and the United State's water flowage is North. Poly's water shed flows south/south east to the Great Lakes. Poly's Duluth Complex geograpic location is no stranger to mining. All the rocks on the Iron Range are sulfur bearing and have been broken apart for over a century. Thanks to modern technology
companies like, United States Steel and Cliffs Natural Resources can keep the sulfide levels in the tailings basins to state and national accepted levels, however Minnesota, to this date, will not tell United States Steel what that number is. Why? Politics.

I got off on a tangent again! What I am trying to say that there will be news articles stating that there is a rally to express the public's discontent about proposed toxic sulfide mining and drilling near the BWCA. The ass hats at the Minneapolis Star Trib will sensationalize the article and make reference to the disputed Polymet Mine, when in fact the United States Forest Service is having a listening session about Twin Metals and other proposed drilling operations in Koochaching County.
