I don't doubt one bit that the research can turn into patents and therefore turn into BIG dollars for the company -- whether from Licensing it, selling the patent/research, or flat out selling the company.

Lots and lots of Big Pharma have deep pockets and are on the hunt for acquisition candidates. That's a fact.
