It's possible to disagree with me without imputing dishonest motive on my part or taking a back-hand swipe at my intelligence level.

My point, once again, is that cheering new industry and new jobs is pretty much a no-lose situation for any elected official. That changes when elected officials start advocating for using public money to support new industry. Then there is definitely the kind of political accountability you are talking about. That's the difference.
