They have nothing to lose. Why wouldn't they hype new industry and new jobs? If it goes south, they're not on the hook for anything.

I heartily reject the thinking that says it must be real because state officials are touting new jobs. They're not doing the same kind of DD that shareholders should be doing, because they're not investing in the project.

Besides its other benefits, higher BTU Pristine-M coal lowers transportation costs by 40%. That makes it more attractive to those outside WY, where nearly half the cost of PRB coal is in the shipping. I have a feeling that once these two plants are up and operational, other mines in region are going to feel pressured to upgrade their coal as well. $ Cha-Ching $
