Does Zimmer have an image problem in China as well? It has a presence there so im just trying to account for the need of Weigao.

I wanted to add this to our discussion. Notice Amedica focus on new markets; Brazil, China, Japan, Australia, & theyve mentioned Taiwan.

The recent Zacks article had this to say:

Zimmer Biomet has been of late working to strengthen its foothold in the emerging markets that provide long-term opportunities. The company's strategic investments in these regions over several quarters with a view to enhance operational and sales performance are yielding results.

Asia pacific is the fastest growing region with Japan #1 & China #2 in terms of growth. Another region experiencing significant growth is Mexico & Brazil. Amedica appears to be following Zimmer's strategy for market presence.
