Dollar for Dollar SPH is the better buy, its about $23 and change but pays .88 quarterly whereas ORC is $10.00 paying .14 cents.

SPH @ $23.00 divided by 3 months = roughly $7.60, .88 cent dividend divided by 3 = .29 cent dividend.

Because ORC is Ten bucks, psychologically it looks like the better buy because it pays monthly.

I love dividend companies and diversification is the key. I own AI paying .625 a quarter, SXCP paying .594 a quarter, STON paying .33 a quarter, AMID paying .413 a quarter, CLM paying .238 a month and CRF paying .2289 a month.

A fantastic service to check out is dividend detective, all dividend paying companies are listed there which really takes the guess work out of decisions and they highlight which companies are going X div for the next 4 weeks.
