Cherry has to say what he says because "junior" is a bad word especially when states are looking at financial assurance and another 20+ years down the road. We all know full well there is more than enough material to mine well past 20 years (which is another thing he continually says (20 years) for permitting purposes).
He can't tell the state that he only wants permits for 20 years (which is also not true) and then run. Even the Eagle mine was sold after he completed that project and PLM brought him in because this is his area of expertise--managing the environmental and permitting process. The prior GM just couldn't get it done and was forced out with a sweetheart deal...
Don't get me wrong--your research is great and top notch and I hope you are right! My perspective is a bit different since I have personally known someone deeply involved with the company since its early days in the mid 2000's, thats all so I use their perspective along with my own.
