My guess- They had no funding to deliver meters in quantity- EVER! That's why they need a deep pocket partner. Delivering meters worldwide would take about $20M to $50M easily.

Didn't sell em any because there were none to sell back then. All that BS about this and that, and testing in Thailand was all just PR BS
