You can buy shares on uncleared funds, you just cannot resell them without causing a free ride. Even free rides only mean that you might get a suspension on trading with margin or uncleared funds.

Etrd and OH will let you buy shares immediately. OH Won't let you draw transfer CASH for 3 days until the trade is completed with the buyer.

MM's have Level 3 so they can see where the stop losses are and manipulate the price to trigger them. Sorry to hear this happened to you. If the ticker change doesn't hit until the 7th or 8th as others have proposed, you may be ok.
