Except ipqa was already developed and in beta prior to the jtda, so no they should not own any rights to it. In fact they even had to go back and insert the registered trademark on the America makes docs once someone pointed it out and GE had to stop using IPQA as a generic term. Also likely why the project was delayed by several months initially due to disputes over the contract which mark mentioned, oh forever ago. 2014? Maybe?
The only issue is that GE did purchase PrintRite3D as well as Honeywell and Aerojet RocketDyne all who developed SGLB's IPQA technology together via America Makes project.
Ok may be you are right, my question is now when I remember correctly: GE Additive is planning to produce 10k machines within the next 10 years, 1k for internal use 9k for worldwide customers what will GE Additive (together with Concept Laser) offer there external customers if they are not allowed to sell IPQA?
