GM to you K2 and all the good folks hanging out here. My old memories of the old cars was my grandfather's Corvair (stick shift) and my grandmother's matching Corvair (automatic, a shift lever on the dash board LOL) I learned to drive on both. :-)
Loved those early tempest, it was the car that the LeMans and GTO came out of. My pal had a either 1 '66 or '67 that was independent rear suspension and it was dangerously quick! It did have stiff steering, the secret was never slow down too much. It/they were some of John DeLorean's best auto designs. Genral Motors and Delorean gave us some great cars in the 60's and 70's.
