There is no way -- let me say that again: NO WAY -- that a big (positive) announcement would be made late on a Friday afternoon. That's the time slot reserved news "dumps" -- bad news that doesn't get full coverage or attention because it's the weekend.

But I'm encouraged that billion-dollar valuation is no longer part of the talking points.

If you hover over it, it linked to the investor sheet from January 2016.
I'm guessing they will link a new one for June 2017 with updated numbers/deals/partnerships prior to the mining convention.

BTW, if you assume the new EPS is an error, and that CNBC simply copied it from Google Finance, or vice versa... Then why are other key stats are different?
If you think it's a typo and it should read -0.12 ... then how do you get there from the last reported EPS of 0.00 and the prior EPS (ttm) of -0.09?

You asked so here's my guess. Radio silence will remain in effect for CCTC due to an NDA or Government Confidentiality Statement. All will be revealed in the professional forum of the WY Mining Conference and not until then IMHO.
