By 2000 the blue dye enteral feed tinting method was entrenched in most U.S. intensive care units as a bedside monitor of aspiration.








At some point, a reader's simple inability to understand scientific texts is the less likely explanation, and it is overcome by an obvious intention to obfuscate and disseminate false information. It is clear from the review article that this has nothing to do with faulty manufacturing and nothing to do with tinted feeding tubes. Any objective, minimally-educated reader can understand that this is a serious safety issue in which blue dye #1 causes profound morbidity and mortality in at-risk populations.
