So what if that many people showed up would it matter? So it is a scam because they don't know how many people would be there?
I went to an open house type event at a hospital for a celebration and it was done in the office while patients were coming and going and this was at a major university hospital. Not sure why this is an issue or makes it any more or less a scam.
