I can see sp doubling for both common and preferred.

More than that though depends on what else happens (Ie if the cushion to be built is small, and if the nws is ended or merely temporarily suspended)

My guess is not this qtr but next...just not sure who stops it. The next question: is it stopped or "halted". If stopped IMO prfd's do not get to par but increase and commons get to 7ish. Halted maybe 4-5 depending on what is going on and said. GLTY

I've held some since 2009 and been through all the crazy swings and emotional roller coasters, and I can say with confidence that if halted, the pps might pop 1.00 or so, then it'll tank losing all gains within a few days. Traders will run it up, and then short it back down like they've been doing since 2008.

The problem is that the stock is now permanently damaged. In other words, very few people feel comfortable owning a government-controlled stock for the long term. Too many have been burnt too many times. Nobody trusts the Feds, and for good reason.

Knowing Watt from what I could see by his public statements. He has no backbone to take unilateral action that is not supported by the team he is playing ball with. This team includes Mnuchin, Corker, and others who could care less about the welfare of Fannie and Freddie shareholders. They would rather steal us blind then follow the constitution and the law of the land and stop and/or return what was taken illegally. I would not hold my breadth waiting for Watt to unilaterally stop the NWS without support or approval of folks like Mnuchin, Corker, and others who seem to have a pull/control on this side of the government dealing with banking matters for the GSEs.

Sorry, but I call it as I see it. Not trying to paint or pump it incorrectly. We are now treading water in these stocks because of these evil forces at play at our doorsteps. GLTY.

"Do any of you think Watt will have the guts to stop the next NWS? "

I don't think it has anything to do with "guts", but no I don't think he will risk being sued and fired by stopping the NWS.
