It's not so much that Ebola fell out of vogue as that NNVC's Ebolacide didn't work. Of course they put the nicest possible spin on the results, saying that Ebolacide was as effective against Marburg as against Ebola. No doubt that was true, but aspirin is also equally effective against Marburg and Ebola.
Thus NNVC proved that they do not have a platform, where you can take any virus, figure out the ligands it attaches to, put those ligands on the surface of a nanomicelle, and have an effective anti-viral.
