Actually both of those ideas are still on the table as a side effect of the Hydrogen production.

Once you have a steady Hydrogen source it's easy to create natural gas by combining the hydrogen and CO2 in a F-T type process.

The use of polluted water is suppose to be one of the main selling points of the tech.
