Everton Cuts 4 Channel Samples Returning up to 12.01 g/t au Over 4.6 Meters on the Manuel Showing, Wildcat 5 Property, in the Opinaca Region, James Bay, Quebec

Tuesday September 12, 8:30 am ET

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 12, 2006) - Everton Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:EVR - News) is pleased to report the results from four channel samples cut on the Manuel Showing on its 100%-owned Wildcat 5 property, located in the Éléonore gold discovery area, in the Opinaca region in James Bay, Quebec. Following the encouraging initial results announced on August 15, 2006, mechanical trenching with a mini back-hoe, detailed sampling, and an induced polarization (I.P.) ground geophysical survey were undertaken.

The Manuel Showing was stripped over 9 meters along the strike of mineralization where four rock-saw sampling channels, spaced 2 to 3 meters apart, were cut perpendicularly to the mineralized structure. From the easternmost to the westernmost channel, values obtained are: 11.79 g/t Au over 4.2 meters, 8.29 g/t Au over 4.2 meters, 12.01 g/t Au over 4.6 meters and 5.37 g/t Au over 4.5 meters. Field observation from prospecting work indicates that the mineralized zone remains open in all directions. These results are 500 meters west of the results released on September 6, 2006, that returned grades up to 75.79 g/t Au from rock outcrop samples. A ground geophysical I.P. program over the Manuel Showing and its lateral extensions was recently completed. Everton is currently analyzing the results, and follow-up prospecting and mechanical trenching are planned to begin later this month on the I.P. anomalies.

Mineralization on the Manuel Showing consists of two parallel mineralized bands containing up to 3% fine to medium-grained disseminated, pyrite, pyrrhotite, arsenopyrite, with some traces of chalcopyrite. The mineralized bands are hosted within a moderately to strongly silicified paragnessic rocks. Small quartz veinlets are also present.

Field work was performed by the personnel of IOS Geosciences Inc. of Chicoutimi, Quebec, the personnel of Services Technominex, of Bellecombe, Quebec, and the staff of Everton, under the supervision of Marc L'Heureux, P. Geo., Everton's Vice-President of Exploration, who acts as the "Qualified Person" as described by the NI 43-101. Samples were assayed at the Laboratoire Expert Inc. of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec and re-assayed at the ALS-Chemex Laboratory of Val d'Or, Quebec.

Everton Resources is actively exploring in the Opinaca region of James Bay, Quebec where Everton has amassed one of the largest land claims adjacent to the Éléonore gold discovery, and where Goldcorp Inc. (NYSE :GG, TSX:G) is proposing to spend several hundreds of millions of dollars developing its recent property acquisition. Everton Resources is also actively drilling in the Dominican Republic adjacent to where the world's largest gold mining company, Barrick Gold (NYSE/TSX:ABX), is partnering with Goldcorp to develop the 15 million ounce Pueblo Viejo gold deposit, one of the world's largest undeveloped gold deposits, at an estimated cost of $1.4 billion.
