This stock is incredibly predictable. All one has to do is buy a pile, then wait for the pop, sell it and buy back in when it tanks.

Doing this since 2009 has worked very well for me.

There is no difference between common or preferred. To say one is a lottery ticket and the other is not is an incorrect statement.
