#14253 RE: brooklyn13 #14252

Resources (memory, CPU, GPU) are the bottleneck. Clipstream algorithm susses out what resources are available and bases the quality of the video on that.

The more resources are available, the better the quality. The less the available resources are used by other stuff running, the better the quality.

They don't have to know what you're running, just how much free resources are available. Nobody says that you necessarily can't run anything else.

Keubiko is consistent and I have nothing against his position, He argues they'd better forget Clipstream and put the money in growing PlayMPE.

I've even said on more than one occasion that he could very well be right. So far he has been. No problemo.

My position is also simple and consistent:
- Clipstream has a much bigger addressable market, which is also growing faster.
- It's a binary situation, either it will work or it won't. I can't tell, but we can follow the progress in the demo videos.
- If it won't work, the downside is (or was, when I invested) limited
- If it will work, the upside is large.

Basically I saw Destiny as PlayMPE with some option value in Clipstream. Maybe that option expires worthless, but I thought it was worth a shot, given the improvement in the demo's I saw, the improvement in PlayMPE, and the opportunity in generic video hosting if Clipstream fails.
