New Jersey might get an influx of new medical marijuana patients. On May 11, 2017, a review panel for the New Jersey Medical Marijuana Program suggested that the state health commissioner add chronic pain as a qualifying condition. This would include chronic pain related to migraines, musculoskeletal disorders, chronic fatigue, anxiety, Tourette syndrome and irritable bowel syndrome.

“We are glad to see that the panel took the testimony of experts and the petitions of New Jerseyans seriously in making their recommendation to add chronic pain to the list of qualifying conditions for medical marijuana,” said Roseanne Scotti, New Jersey State Director of the Drug Policy Alliance.
