I know some of the people here are (semi)oldtimers so let me say something about this.
My girlfriend and about half of my other friends don't watch cable anymore.
We are tired of seeing grown men sweat on each other in a game that doesn't change.
Computers have no limits and games continuously test even the greatest of reaction times and mental fortitude.
There is a limit to how far you can throw a football or how hard you can slapshot a puck. There is no limit to what developers can throw at you on a screen.
Esports has very little advertising that breaks up the main game. There are no ads 'between snaps' and it is way way more loose and fun to watch than an ESPN or ABC broadcast.
We hate commercials, we hate paying for cable, we love computers and we love games.
Twitch allows you to live chat with EVERYONE else watching the event. How engaged are you on the couch watching the Masters? Not very. Twitch chat creates another world of entertainment, for free, right along side what you already wanted to watch.
We need a central source for esports. GGmedia is doing this.
Take it from a millennial (I'm 29) This is it. Real sports have peaked, Esports just hit puberty.
