You laugh and it was meant ironically, but was hard earned.
All it will take is a really glaring and important instance or 2 where the short read results in life threatening errors, and our economic worm will turn.
That, or even a well timed and credible seeming rumor could easily put us above your entry cost. Who knows? I'm willing to let this bait soak.
If you are convinced that it will fail, better bail out and cut your losses..Seems premature to me.
Chopping up the DNA, reading the various bits, then tasking a computer algorithm to paste it all back together is asking for errors, seems to me.
It's the old quantity VS quality problem.
They just recently released their new sequencer and will doubtless be concentrating on smoothing out the bumps in it for a while.
That's a wildly complex and exacting piece of machinery to develop, especially for a small company with very limited resources. Don't expect the next generation all that quickly.
