Good points about health degrading. If one was diagnosed with rGBM tomorrow and started Avastin, there expected overall survival would be 32 weeks--with 16 weeks of "stable/disease control" with Avastin, then 16 weeks of falling off a cliff with Avastin failure. These are dying patients with horrible baseline health situations due to their tumor and prior treatments. But, it also appears many seem to have substantive side effects with Avastin itself. You can find people wondering if the Avastin was even worth it, i.e. not improving quality of life. One of the measures that Avastin was approved in rGBM was that it might add to the patient's quality of life by reducing the steroid use, but from reading the threads on Avastin, I'm not even sure about that.
