do you think the DTA of the size F and F have is related to paying too much (or accrual adjustments)

again - I strongly suspect the DTA that F and F already used - was an NOL x tax rate = cash owed as they made paper profits on write ups after suffering paper losses on write downs

DTAs of that size are often from NOL carry forwards (not backwards)

All as a non accountant but one who dabbles in companies that have had bad years and low stock prices
