the poly implants are what replaces the natural cartilage that has been eroded or damaged, hips, knees and shoulders are the main joints. the bone cement used is a 2 part combination, the ester is the methylmethacrylate, not a very healty option to be implanted but is the only option, till now maybe? Below is DOW's paper on it.
