I'm curious why people think that legalizing weed will mean there isn't a use for 0 THC hemp?
The government and big tobacco can see where the tobacco products flow. From mfg to distributor to retail. If weed is legalized they will want to have that same control.
Therefore having a THC free hemp mitigates the need to track hemp. It's not a threat to public health at that point.
I also wonder what impact alkaloids have on how a plant grows or how it could be used.
Examples: alkaloids can regulate plant growth. Alkaloids protect plants. Nicotine needs to be removed from tobacco biomass to be able to create tobacco jet fuel.
