Good afternoon Justin...
you're welcome.

I thought you'd enjoy ONEBGG's site. His wife is a wonderful artist and he is quite good at showing off her work. They are a good team.

Copying images and posting them: I believe if you right click on an image on the web you will get a menu. One of the options is something like "save picture as..." If you click on that, you can save the picture to a folder on your hard drive. (Do not chose the "save as wallpaper" option.)

I believe you can then post that image on the web the way Colt did. He or the Big Guy or trkyhntr can give you instructions on how to do this. It is not something I've tried.

Your album sounds great. Hope we get a chance to view it. <g>

Sounds you were lucky to get rid of Ken Lay while the getting was good. The word sleazebag comes to mind. Someone on one of these boards suggested that the proper punishment for guys like him was to strip them of all their wealth and condemn them to a life sentence of not being able to earn more than $30,000 (or thereabouts) a year... a life of lower middle class poverty. The seized assets could be divided among the workers who lost all thanks to their greed.

I love the idea. :-)

Justin: A bit about film scanning…

I have an older Canon D2400U flatbed (document type) scanner that also scans negatives and slides. The scanner has a second light source in the lid, and a variety of (inexpensive) negative holders to hold and position the negatives on the scanner’s glass. My scanner will scan negatives and slides (positives) from 35 mm up to 4”x5”.
Other scanners, of similar design, are limited to 35 mm negatives and slides.

Note: These scanners also do the regular scanning stuff… photo prints, documents, (and with OCR [Optical Character Recognition] software, convert text on a printed page into a ‘puter type file [subject to editing and reformatting] suitable for a copy and paste into a word processor. Another handy use is that of a photocopier (You also need a printer for this function.)

Among the software that was bundled with the scanner was Photoshop Lite. Actually, the scanner was installed on one of my sons’ computers (more physical room on his desk, and more horsepower in his ‘puter). He already had Photoshop (not lite). Photoshop has the tools to adjust contrast and brightness, do color corrections etc. . You can then store the pix in different file formats / quality / sizes… i.e. convert to a jpeg in a suitable pix / file size / quality for email / web applications.

There are other, film only, scanners available with much higher resolution:
For example, Canon’s FS4000US or Minolta’s Scan Elite 5400.

Minolta Scan Elite 5400 website:

No way an expert, but I’ll try to answer your questions,

Justin,

You asked, "Is there a way to select an individual photo on ONEBGG's website and post it directly to a message board as Colt did with his tank pictures?"

You need a host site like Hunt 101, pBase, Anglefire, etc. Then you can link it directly to a web page like here on iHub.
