I am wondering if they finally realized that they are not capable of properly preparing the NDA.

I imagine a consultant being called in by a company low on cash would demand payment upfront.

I can't get out of my head how confident they were back in November before the devastating meeting where they discovered that their draft NDA was garbage and had to be completely redone.
