I don't know who this guy is but he nicely presents the negative case for mREITs. This category of investment was created by law around 1970 and plenty of them sprung up... and quickly failed. In fact few mREITs date back very long. The Great Recession took out several of them.

The monthly dividend suggests that stocks like ORC target unsophisticated retirees reaching for yield to live on, not pros or institutions. Warren Buffett doesn't buy these.
