For example - I thought it was 95% agreed that we should love our neighbor. That clearly is not the case

Then I thought live and let live was 95% agreed. Nope

I now have adopted what does appear to be a growing "phrase or slogan" in urban areas --- "Hate has no home here"

Hopefully we can all (95%) adopt that as the minimal good

(As in Doctor - first - do no harm)

You, my friend, have a tremendous amout of faith in humanity. What I find is that people always let their emotions win out over reason. Sadly, the strongest of these emotions is hate (anger) ... any man who's ever gotten his arse kicked will verify this for me.

Then, there is insecurity, which drives the will to be sure that one doesn't feel like the bottom of the refuse barrel. The EASIEST way to do that (while certainly not the best), is to keep someone elses neck under your foot.

Sadly,, I don't see any way we can get Humanity (and I use the term loosely) to learn. We keep doing the same stupid things over and over. I am sad.
