A slight one, although the intent in either case is the same.


Reworking means going into an existing producing formation with the hope of making it produce more.

Re-completing means going for an entirely new formation in some already-producing well that is on its last legs in the current producing formation; or, re-entering some well that was a dry hole or plugged and abandoned and now somebody thinks they know enough to make something of it, again.
