The PR announcing the new CEO also mentioned the Hq moving to the upper Midwest. That implies (to me) the California office closed.

The Sausalito "office" was nothing more than a room in a shared office suite - so not much to "close down". I stopped there once when driving through the area - surprisingly, Ed wasn't there - the receptionist hadn't seen him in days.
