I believe the term "clinically meaningful" is also dubious?

In general, the term refers to the magnitude of the observed efficacy (often expressed as a hazard ratio) as distinct from the statistical analysis. In this case, however, the contention of clinically meaningful efficacy is meaningless insofar as the dataset was tampered with.

Almost every clinical trial would have great-looking results if one were allowed to exclude (the worst) 20% of the data points.
